What we collect
- Numbers you look up. We log lookups to count views and improve results. They are not linked to your identity.
- Reports you submit. The reported number, the category and your comment. If you add them, also the name the caller gave and your area code.
- Technical data. We turn your IP address into a salted one-way hash and use it to limit request rates and prevent abuse. Raw IP addresses are never stored with reports or votes.
- Email (optional). Only if you sign up for number alerts, ask for a removal or contact us.
Where our data comes from
FreeSpy combines public numbering-plan data (NANPA and CNAC), Do-Not-Call complaint data published by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, licensed carrier data from telecom providers, and reports from our community.
How we use it
We use this data to show lookup results and risk scores, send alerts, prevent abuse and spam, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can ask us to remove reports about your number on the Remove My Number page. You can unsubscribe from alerts with one click. You can also contact us to see or delete the data linked to your email. Residents of California and Canada may have more rights under the CCPA/CPRA and PIPEDA.
